Radio host to get funds from ex-LAPD cop gun sale

A North Las Vegas gun dealer is giving away $4,025 from the sale of a handgun once owned by rogue former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner.

Bargain Pawn owner George Bramlett is giving the money to Veterans Care Foundation Inc., a local military veteran’s care advocate. He says he searched for more than a week to find a recipient for the money after learning that representatives of the families of two California police officers killed by Dorner didn’t want the money.

An Internet auction closed April 23.

Bramlett bought the .38 special revolver from Dorner in January for $50.

Dorner led police on a manhunt after he killed four people, then fatally shot himself when police surrounded him in February near Big Bear, Calif.

Veterans Care Foundation Inc. official and local radio talk show host Jim Lytner says the money will go to help locate and help homeless military veterans in the Las Vegas area.
