North Las Vegas police arrested a man Friday on allegations that he sexually assaulted and robbed a 79-year-old woman.

The woman reported a man breaking into her home in the 1300 block of East Nelson Avenue, robbing her at gunpoint and sexually assaulting her around 5 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

Police identified Abdul Howard, 47, as a suspect in the case, and he was taken into custody. He had no prior relationship with the woman.

Howard was arrested on one count each of sexually assaulting a victim over 60 years old, robbery, burglary with a deadly weapon and home invasion with a deadly weapon.
