Two arrested in fatal stabbing outside convenience store

Two people were arrested Tuesday on murder charges after a man was stabbed during a fight outside a convenience store.

Las Vegas police said Genaro Padillo Jr., 30, and Kenneth Glosson, 56, were booked at the Clark County jail on a count each of murder with a deadly weapon.

They are accused of killing 30-year-old Deng Kuangmabior, according to their arrest reports.

Padillo was working as a clerk at a store on the 700 block of Twain Avenue, near Swenson Street, when he got in an argument with Kuangmabior about 5:40 p.m. Monday.

The store's video surveillance showed Kuangmabior walking into You Stop Liquor Store and pointing a yellow pole at Padillo. Padillo then took the pole away from Kuangmabior and chased him with the pole as Kuangmabior ran out of the store.

Video caught Padillo striking Kuangmabior with the pole, the report said.

Store employee Jorge Casares can be seen on the video running after Kuangmabior.

When police spoke with Casares, he told investigators that when Padillo chased Kuangmabior, he saw Glosson run from the south and get involved in the beating.

Casares said he saw Padillo hit Kuangmabior several times with the pole and Glosson strike Kuangmabior in the chest in what appeared to be stabbing motions, but he never saw a knife.

Casares then went into the store with Padillo and took the pole and hid it in the store's ceiling.

A short time later, a black man was seen on video walking into the store and speaking with Padillo. The two shook hands, the report said.

The man was later identified as Glosson.

When police spoke with Padillo, he told them he and Kuangmabior got into an argument because Kuangmabior was acting belligerent.

Padillo admitted taking the pole and chasing Kuangmabior out of the store, but he denied hitting Kuangmabior with the pole, the report said.

Glosson was located in a portable restroom at Molasky Park, 1065 E. Twain Ave. Glosson told police he had a box cutter in his jacket.

A detective noticed apparent blood on Glosson's left palm and right fingers and a blood stain on the right sleeve of his jacket.

Kuangmabior died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.
