Two California men arrested after bank robbery

Two California men arrested late Thursday afternoon on allegations they robbed a downtown Las Vegas bank are suspected by Las Vegas police of robbing two other valley banks this week.

Patrick Montalvo, 19, and Darren Dillingham, 25, both from Southern California, were taken into custody minutes after robbing a bank at 500 Las Vegas Boulevard South, police said.

Police said Montalvo and Dillingham arrived in Las Vegas on a bus Tuesday and robbed two other banks -- in the 3000 block of West Russell Road on Wednesday and in the 2500 block of Maryland Parkway earlier Thursday.

In each incident one of the suspects passed a note to a bank employee, and in at least two of the robberies they claimed to have a gun, according to police.

The men are in federal custody on three counts of bank robbery.
