Woman arrested for leaving scene of fatal accident

A 33-year-old woman accused of leaving the scene of a fatal accident was arrested Sunday.
Elizabeth Meza turned herself into Las Vegas police about 7:45 p.m. She was taken to the Clark County jail and booked on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
Meza is accused of crashing a 2004 Nissan Xterra into a pedestrian about 11 p.m. at Jones Boulevard and Saddle Avenue. The pedestrian died at University Medical Center.
Meza left the scene and her car was found by police a short time later near Jones and Flamingo Road, police said.
