Man pleads not guilty to 2013 double killing in Las Vegas

A man charged in an October 2013 double killing in Las Vegas pleaded not guilty Monday.

Christopher Green, 32, was extradited in March from Mississippi’s Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility, where he had been serving an eight-year sentence for aggravated assault since 2014, according to that state’s prison records.

In Las Vegas, Green faces two counts of murder and one count of misdemeanor battery.

Authorities accused Green of fatally shooting Michael Dunbar, 28, and Teraye Lyles, 29, on Oct. 20, 2013, at Pacific Harbors Sunrise apartments, near Sahara Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.

Police said eight or nine shots were fired after a loud argument between two small groups of men in the middle of the 5150 E. Sahara Ave. complex.

Officers found Dunbar’s body — shot multiple times — in a grassy area between two apartment buildings. About six hours later, someone who lived at the complex flagged down officers still on the scene and pointed out Lyles’ body — also shot multiple times — under an apartment stairwell, according to police.

A warrant for Green was issued in July 2014, according to court records. He is being held without bail.
