A man is dead and a suspect is in custody after an argument in northeast Las Vegas escalated into gunfire late Friday night, Las Vegas police say.
A 38-year-old man, Theodore Pafundi, has been booked on suspicion of open murder while an unidentified man died at the scene of apparent gunshot wounds.
Police dispatchers received multiple cars about 11:58 p.m. about a shooting at a mobile park near the 800 block of North Lamb Boulevard, near East Harris Avenue, according to a news release.
Police located a man sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medical personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
An investigation by Metro’s homicide section determined that the victim had been in an argument with another man, later identified as Pafundi. The incident escalated, and Pafundi produced a firearm and shot the victim.
Officers were able to locate Pafundi and he was taken into custody without incident. He was taken to the Clark County Detention Center where he was booked.
The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office after relatives have been notified.
