November 17, 2016 - 3:42 pm
A central valley elementary school was placed on lockdown for about 20 minutes Thursday morning as Las Vegas police searched nearby for three men who fled from a stolen vehicle.
Police had attempted to stop the stolen vehicle about 9 a.m. in a neighborhood near Washington Avenue and Torrey Pines Drive, less than a mile from Culley Elementary School, 1200 N. Mallard St., when the three men fled.
One of the men police were looking for was believed to be armed with a handgun.
The lockdown was lifted shortly after police had the men in custody, Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Larry Hadfield said. No one was hurt.
