Man hospitalized after shooting in southwest Las Vegas

A man was hospitalized Monday after a shooting in the southwest valley, Las Vegas police said.

Police responded just before 1:30 p.m. to a call of a shooting at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Jones Boulevard.

The man was found shot in the abdomen and taken to University Medical Center where he is expected to survive, Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Larry Hadfield said.

The shooter was at large Monday afternoon, he said.
