99 Words About … The needlessness of ‘Bonnie & Clyde’

You have to admire the ambition of “Bonnie & Clyde” (9 p.m. Sunday and Monday), the miniseries that’s taking over Lifetime, History and A&E.

The execution, meanwhile, leaves something to be desired.

Emile Hirsch and Holliday Grainger assume the title roles; William Hurt and Holly Hunter co-star.

But it never really establishes a reason to exist.

Those four hours would be better spent watching the 1967 Warren Beatty-Faye Dunaway classic, then heading to Whiskey Pete’s in Primm to see — spoiler alert! — the duo’s “death car” and Clyde’s bullet-shredded shirt.

You may even have time left over to hit the outlet mall.
