Route 91 clears Twitter, Instagram to make a single statement

Route 91 Harvest has deleted its entire Twitter and Instagram feeds in favor of the festival’s first, and thus far only, statement about Sunday’s mass shooting at the Village.

It reads:

“On behalf of the entire Route 91 Harvest Family, we are completely devastated by the event that occurred Sunday night.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the injured and the deceased and their loved ones, senseless violence has claimed the souls of our fans and we have little in the way of answers.

Our eternal gratitude goes out to the LVPD, Emergency services, security guards, and fans for their selfless acts of bravery while trying to help those in need.

While we will try and move forward, we will never forget this day.

We will NOT let hate win over LOVE.

We will NOT be defeated by senseless violence.

We WILL persevere, and honor the souls that were lost.

Because it matters.”

On Monday, before the event’s statement went public, Route 91’s Twitter feed dating to the festival’s opening was totally deleted. Its Instagram page, too, was wiped clean. The only posts on either platform are the company’s statement.

The message was issued by concert promoter Live Nation, and was shared on @Route91Harvest’s Twitter and Instagram accounts, and also by Live Nation Music President Brian O’Connell at @Boccountry.

A concert and festival veteran, O’Connell worked with MGM Resorts officials to deliver the sold-out event to the Strip in 2014. His personal Twitter and Instagram accounts remain intact.
