Hustler wants to be first strip club with sports book

Las Vegas’ Hustler strip club on Friday filed an application with the Nevada Gaming Commission to become the first strip club with a sports book.

This is a serious application, not a stunt, and if Hustler has to tell strippers to wear pasties or bikini tops, Hustler will do that in hopes of offering betting, under the guidance of a seasoned sports book director, by Super Bowl 2015, Hustler told the Review-Journal on Monday.

The club at 6700 Dean Martin Dr. wants to do parlay cards, offer free lap dances for accumulating betting points, and use hand-held devices so customers can make bets while receiving lap dances.

“This is the future of sports gaming in Nevada,” said Deja Vu/Hustler entrepreneur Harry Mohney.

Al Taylor, publicist for Hustler, told me he isn’t sure what opposition Hustler will face, but Hustler execs hope this will be a smooth transition.

“We have good attorneys. We’ll take it to the Supreme Court if we have to. We think this is what the public will demand,” Taylor said.

When sports books open in New Jersey, Hustler will try to launch stripping sports books there, too.

So what do you think, Las Vegas?
