LOCALS ONLY: Country acts performing benefit show

So you’re a country music fan, but you don’t want to brave the Strip for Friday and Saturday’s ACM Party for a Cause Festival at The Linq? Or Sunday’s ACM Awards at the MGM Grand? Or Sunday’s ACM Fan Jam at Mandalay Bay? Or Monday’s taping of “ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute to the Troops” at the MGM Grand?

You can avoid all that traffic by heading for Red Rock Resort today for the sixth annual All-Star Guitar Pull.

It’s not affiliated with any of the Academy of Country Music events, but the 7 p.m. concert will feature Gary Allan, Sheryl Crow, Kacey Musgraves, Thomas Rhett, Kellie Pickler, Parmalee, Dustin Lynch and Lindsay Ell performing acoustic sets.

Tickets are $29, $39, $49 and $59 plus tax and fees. They can be purchased at any Station or Fiesta casino, www.sclv.com/concerts, www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.

All proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Bluegrass concert

Spring has sprung, making it high time to head outdoors. If you’d like to augment the atmosphere with music, the latest free Bluegrass in the Park concert — at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Lorenzi Park Lake band shell, 3333 W. Washington Ave. — provides ample chances for toe-tappin’ and finger-snappin’. For more details, call 702-229-5443.

Grand discount

The restaurants of the Downtown Grand — Stewart + Ogden, Red Mansion, The Commissary and Triple George Grill — are offering 50 percent off meals (excluding alcohol) for those who dine before or after a performance at The Smith Center on Sundays during April. To get the discount, show your ticket stub or other proof of ticket purchase.

Fab endeavor

Sure you can hear “Eleanor Rigby” a lot of places. But what about “Doctor Robert”? And isn’t it just about time to start singing “Taxman”? The Beatles tribute band The Fab will play the whole “Revolver” album plus other favorites at 8 p.m. today inside the Revolver club (easy to remember, huh?) at Santa Fe Station, 4949 N. Rancho Drive. Admission is $7.

Nirvana tribute

An excellent, diverse lineup of Vegas bands pays tribute to Nirvana two decades after frontman Kurt Cobain’s death. Strange Mistress, Wax Pig Melting, Bogtrotter’s Union, Dusty Sunshine, Audicy and others celebrate the songs of the pioneering alt-rock act at 9 p.m. Saturday at Backstage Bar &Billiards, 601 E. Fremont St. Tickets are $5; call 702-382-2227.
