The ukulele offers a respite from bombast for Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder on his latest solo record.
“Ukulele Songs” finds Vedder giving tender, impassioned voice to skeletal folk tunes heavy on longing if not volume.
Touring in support of the album, Vedder’s playing smaller venues than he’s used to in his full-time gig, a more intimate setting befitting a more intimate record.
