Godsmack, Limp Bizkit set to punch Vegas in the face

Concert etiquette be damned, there are two upcoming shows where wearing a shirt should not be required.

Seriously, every bro should be allowed to display his sweet tribal arm tattoos and nerd-crushing pecs when Godsmack and Limp Bizkit are in town.

The latter hits Vegas first, the equally loved and loathed rap-rockers prepping their fan base for new album “Stampede of the Disco Elephants,” the band’s first for hip-hop powerhouse Cash Money Records.

On first single “Endless Slaughter,” frontman Fred Durst threatens to stab haters in the eye with a dirty fork.

Seriously?

You can’t wipe the thing off first?

As for Godsmack, it’s also working a new record, the recently released “1000hp”

No, we’re not talking 500 horsepower.

We’re not talking 700 horsepower.

We’re talking 1000 horsepower, which is, like, way more horsepower.

There’s a tune on the record titled “Something Different,” but the appeal of the band is that things haven’t changed much at all: These dudes are still kicking out the same bruising, gruffly melodic, post-grunge bangers regardless of how rock radio has shifted away from bands of their ilk.

In a way, these dudes have become underdogs all of a sudden, but fear not, Godsmack die-hards, the group has still got plenty of growl left in it.
