Motels headline ’80s bands for free show on Fremont Street — PHOTOS

Martha Davis and the Motels, the Tubes and the Smithereens were on stage Saturday night for a free show under the canopy at the Fremont Street Experience.

The show, part of the Rock of Vegas summer concert series, brought the popular ’80s bands to the 3rd Street Stage.

The Motels made the Top 10 with “Only the Lonely” in 1982, and followed up with another Top 10 hit, “Suddenly Last Summer.” The Tubes are best known for their hits “Talk to Ya Later” and “She’s a Beauty.” The Smithereens hit the charts with “Blood and Roses” and “Behind the Wall of Sleep.”
