PHOTOS: Fans brave the heat for rock music

Rock music fans in Las Vegas braved sizzling temperatures for an opportunity to see multiple performances on Friday thanks to 19th Vans Warped Tour music festival, held in the Silverton parking lot.

Warped Tour is a marathon of music coupled with the appeal of extreme sports. The event began at 11 a.m., providing a variety of musical talent that ranged from punk and emo rock to metalcore.

170 people attending the festival at the were treated for heat-related illness by the Clark County Fire Department between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday. An additional 30 people needed more than shade, water and a place to sit and had to be taken to local hospitals.
