Winwood to touch on various points of career during concerts

The concert-tour gimmick of performing a hit album all the way through wouldn’t really work for Steve Winwood. Few people can remember everything he’s done, or pick a favorite.

“I have these different points of reference. Some of the people that identify with different points in my career often don’t even know there’s another point of my career where someone else comes in,” Winwood, now 66, pointed out in 2012.

The guy who sang “I’m A Man” when he was just 18 is the same one who went on to sing “Dear Mr. Fantasy” with Traffic and enjoyed a brief burst of MTV fame with ’80s hits such as “Higher Love.”

“I try and not leave any period out,” says the perennial rocker, back for a two-night stand Friday and Saturday at the Brooklyn Bowl.
