‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’ to set sail in Australia

Dead Men Tell No Tales… unless filming has begun!

That’s right, crew. The production of “Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” is set to start filming in Australia.

“According to a Walt Disney Studios press release, the Australian government secured the film’s location with a $21.6 million contribution, but estimates that the film will bring in $100 million in local revenue to Queensland while creating thousands of jobs,” Entertainment Weekly reports. “The film will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg. Pirates 5 was originally slated for a 2015 release, but was delayed to a July 2017 release due to budgetary and script concerns.”

Aussies are excited to welcome the swashbuckling sailors to their shores and Queensland Premier Campbell Newman is no exception, saying: “We’re delighted to welcome Disney for filming and we’re incredibly proud to showcase Queensland to the rest of the world.”

Johnny Depp is scheduled to reprise his famous role as Captain Jack Sparrow, but the rest of the cast is still in development.
