Pure setting standard for VIP treatment

Some call it table service. Others call it nightclub "real estate." Well, call it whatever you want. It all translates into the same thing -- money, money and more money for the lounges and nightclubs around Las Vegas.

But what makes for good bottle service? Who has the best setup for those looking to shell out thousands of dollars for a table, a good view and a couple of bottles of vodka going for $425 that you could buy for $25 apiece at your local liquor store?

Some are doing it better than others, although for the most part, all the marquee nightclubs in Las Vegas provide their high-rolling patrons with strong VIP areas.

Leading the charge is Pure at Caesars Palace. When it comes to separating those with tables and individuals who just came in to party for the night, Pure has set the standard. Its sections are completely roped off and security is beyond tight, which gives that person who just maxed out their credit card that "VIP," extra-special celebrity feeling, if only just for the night.

Tao nightclub inside The Venetian is right there as well. Again, a solid layout separates the "classes" in the venue and heavy security again provides that added touch. It's just another good choice for a fun night out on the town if you're looking to spend some cash.

Jet at The Mirage and Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel aren't that far behind. Both have creative layouts that give the VIP guests a unique perspective of their clubs.

Body English has a second-floor VIP area that wraps around the entire club, unlike any other in the city. And Jet's elevated VIP areas near and far ends of the rectangular setup provide a nice view in the table-service world.

Tiësto makes surprise trip to Jet -- World-famous DJ Tiësto wasn't supposed to make an appearance at Jet nightclub until Labor Day weekend.

But Monday, the patrons at The Mirage hot spot got a special visit when he blew them away with a surprise, one-hour set at the grand opening of "3400" -- Jet's house music night taking place every Monday in the club's old rock 'n' roll room.

Tiësto was in town for Sunday's appearance at Rehab, the popular weekly pool party at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Tiësto returns to Las Vegas for back-to-back events Sept. 2-3 at Jet. Tickets are $50 pre-sale and available at www.wantickets.com for each show.

Best wishes -- Greg Jarmolowich and Pure Management Group parted ways recently, ending a long run of success. Jarmolowich, who was the director of operations, is taking some time off and likely will be back in night life management.

Keep an eye out for some new hires and promotions inside the company in the coming days as things heat up with the opening of LAX nightclub just a week away. Britney Spears is scheduled to host the venue's first night of operation at the Luxor.
