Is third Jeff Bridges visit still a novelty?

When Jeff Bridges came to sing in Las Vegas last year, you couldn’t deny there was a novelty factor in having an Oscar winner, especially one who played The Dude, performing at a suburban casino.

Now, back for his third visit, you can argue the novelty has worn off and that people seem to like the dude’s actual music.

And Bridges seems to like singing it here. He recorded last June’s shows at Red Rock Resort and released them as an album, simply called “Live.”

“It’s just a great joy. I guess that’s what brings me to the party, just how much fun it is,” Bridges said in April of last year about playing with his band The Abiders.

Compared with working on a movie set, “you do get that immediate feeling of how you’re being received, kind of being in the whole thing together. It’s a wonderful feeling,” he said.

“You get that feeling when you’re just playing with musicians generally. You get a feeling of whether you’re cookin’ or not. It’s still pretty fresh to me.”
