Las Vegas for Less: Free beer, open mic, Cosmo shows, hip-hop, Steel Panther

Buy a beer, get a beer

About the only thing as pants-wettingly awesome as the Freakin' Frog's mammoth, 1,000-plus beer selection is that from 3 to 7 p.m. every day, it's buy one get one free. Drink, drink and drink some more at the Freakin' Frog, 4700 S. Maryland Parkway. Call 597-9702.

Open mic

If you're half as funny as you look, you're sure to knock 'em dead at the open mic comedy night at 9 p.m. Tuesday at MeatHeads, 1121 S. Decatur Blvd. The show is free; call 870-4440.

Cosmo shows

They've collaborated with N*E*R*D, Diplo and DJ Benzi, and now, mesmeric, funk-fired rockers Mansions on the Moon want to get down with you. See them at 10 p.m. and 12 a.m. today and Saturday at Book & Stage at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, 3708 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The shows are free; call 698-7000.

Hip-hop night

Socially aware MC HighDro hosts Vegas' longest running hip-hop night at 10 p.m. Tuesday at the Las Vegas Country Saloon, 425 Fremont St. The show is free; call 382-3531.

Free Steel Panther

Hair metal gets even more laughable, only this time, it's on purpose, when the mighty Steel Panther roars to life at 11 p.m. Saturday at Ovation at Green Valley Ranch, 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway. The show is free; call 617-7777.
