Percussive sound, variety give this vocal double bill personality

You will hear voices. And your ears will deceive you.

Singing impressionist Jeff Tracta sounds like other people. Not just Andrea Bocelli, but Bocelli singing a duet with Sarah Brightman.

Home Free is the a capella group that won this year’s TV contest “The Sing-Off.” They don’t sound like Bocelli, but they do sing mostly country songs and fool you into thinking there’s a rhythm behind them, thanks to vocal percussion.

So you don’t know who or what you’re going to hear on Thursday at the LVH, when the two are co-billed for a show that’s a rare chance to buy a ticket for Tracta. The 1990s mainstay of “The Bold and the Beautiful” (he spelled his name “Trachta” back then) has performed more to private audiences on the corporate circuit since his afternoon show at the Rio in 2006.

Tracta does a bit of vocal percussion too. Two years ago, he recorded his own version of LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” by imitating all the instruments in 52 recorded tracks.
