Six Picks: Our experts pick their favorites for May 25-30

Kathy Griffin

Obsessed with her appearance and celebrity culture? No wonder Kathy Griffin fits in so well on the Strip. The comedian gets back to town ahead of her idol Celine Dion this time, but she just might have a Shania joke or two ready to roll Friday at The Mirage. Tickets are $75.84-$97.84; call 702-792-7777.

Matt & Kim

Matt & Kim’s slap-happy power pop is the musical equivalent of one of those big-ass 1-pound bags of Skittles: colorful, sweet, addictive and capable of delivering one hellacious sugar buzz. See them at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, 3708 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $20; call 702-698-7000.

‘Fast & Furious 6’

It doesn’t live up to the previous five movies. At times, “Fast & Furious 6” is a hot mess that proves there is such a thing as too much action. But if you can turn your brain off long enough, and you’re willing to accept that the series has become a live-action cartoon — honestly, this one makes the original look like a documentary — it still makes for a pretty entertaining ride.

‘Motown
Extravaganza’

Broadway has “Motown: The Musical,” but Cabaret Jazz has “Motown Extravaganza.” Get ready for dancing as Spectrum and Radiance revive Hitsville classics from the Supremes, Temptations, Four Tops and Miracles, among others, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 361 Symphony Park Ave. For tickets ($32-$35), call 702-749-2000 or go to www.thesmithcenter.com.

‘Sip & Savor’

Wolfgang Puck will preside at a showcase of his Las Vegas restaurants during “Sip & Savor” at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Spago at the Forum Shops at Caesars, 3500 Las Vegas Blvd. South. A benefit for Keep Memory Alive and the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, the event will offer samples of the signature cuisines of Puck’s six local restaurants plus wine, spirits and music. Tickets are $120 in advance, $130 at the door. For advance tickets, call Spago at 702-369-6300.

Light

The new Light nightclub gets its official grand opening Friday night at Mandalay Bay. Light is run in conjunction with Cirque du Soleil, so expect aerialists and other crazy performers. The DJ launching the club is Zedd, who should perform his dance hits “Clarity” and “Spectrum” plus his legendary retro song “The Legend of Zelda.”
