Strip Tips: Bar offering special to college students

Bad news: School’s starting soon. Good news: It pays to be a college student. At least at PBR Rock Bar and Grill at Miracle Mile Shops in Planet Hollywood Resort.

Every Wednesday, a school night, people 21 and older who flash their college IDs at the bar will be treated to some really cheap booze. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., women pay $10 and guys pay $20 for open bar specials.

If that’s too late you for you, get the studying, aka partying, started earlier with $50. That will give you all-day open bar access. And if you’re not a student, you can enjoy happy hour prices from 3 to 6 p.m. Among the happy hour specials are $3 domestic drafts, $5 shots and half-off bottles of wine. Sports stuff

Basketball memorabilia from USA Basketball and FIBA World Championships is on display at Wynn Las Vegas through October.

The items, on loan from USA Basketball, include Team USA’s Olympic gold medals won in the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London games; Kobe Bryant’s shoes; autographed basketballs, jerseys and other memorabilia.

The items are on display 24 hours daily across from the Wynn Tower Suites lobby. For more information, visit usabasketball.com or wynnlasvegas.com.

Party planning

The Eiffel Tower Experience at Paris Las Vegas will welcome its 10 millionth visitor sometime this fall. And it plans to throw a party for the unsuspecting guest, too.

If you’re the 10 millionth person to take the elevator ride up to the observation deck, you will win a trip for two to the real Paris in France.

The tower opened in September 1999 and has given millions of guests not only an amazing view of the city but also the perfect spot to watch the Bellagio’s fountain show. The trip to Paris is worth $5,000 and includes airfare and all costs associated with the seven-day visit for two people.
