The Who postpones 50 dates of North American tour

LOS ANGELES — The Who has postponed its 50th anniversary tour indefinitely.
The band is delaying all 50 dates of this fall's "The Who Hits 50!" North American tour. The Who plans on rescheduling the concerts for next spring, they announced on Friday.
Earlier this month, The Who canceled the first four shows of the tour that was to begin this week after lead singer Roger Daltrey contracted viral meningitis. Daltrey said his doctor recommends immediate and prolonged rest.
"We are very sorry to disappoint our fans in this way," Daltry said in a statement. "For the last four weeks, I have been in and out of the hospital and have been diagnosed with viral meningitis. I am now on the mend and feeling a lot better, but I am going to need a considerable time to recover. The doctors tell me I will make a complete recovery, but that I should not do any touring this year."
The Who also canceled shows in their hometown of London at the end of last year after Daltry, 71, contracted a throat infection.
