99 Words About … NBC’s dreamy new ‘Awake’

Help Kyle Killen out, would ya?

He created "Lone Star," last season's best network pilot.

It lasted two episodes.

Now he's back with "Awake" (10 p.m. today, KSNV-TV, Channel 3), this season's best network pilot.

Following a car crash, an LAPD detective (Jason Isaacs) ricochets between two different-yet-connected realities -- his wife dead in one, his son in the other -- with no idea which is a dream.

It's engrossing, boldly original and cable good.

Although you shouldn't feel intimidated. It's still primarily a cop show.

One that deserves a long life.

But let's start with getting it that third episode.
