But at least “Burn Notice,” which ends its seven-season run at 9 p.m. Thursday on USA, let him be a banana at all.

Cult-movie icon Bruce Campbell never had nearly enough to do as easygoing ex-Navy SEAL Sam Axe. But at least producers never struggled to shoehorn him into episodes the way they did Sharon Gless.

Sure, fans will miss the heat between Michael and Fiona. And the drama’s “MacGyver”-like espionage tricks.

But Campbell’s departure will leave a void in the TV landscape the size of his enormous jaw.
