99 Words About … The second chances of USA’s ‘Benched’

Two wrongeds don’t make a right.

Stars from ABC’s two most recently canceled-too-soon cult comedies, Eliza Coupe of “Happy Endings” and Jay Harrington from “Better Off Ted,” come together for “Benched” (10:30 p.m. Tuesday, USA).

The comedy follows a corporate lawyer (Coupe) who has a meltdown when she isn’t promoted and is banished to the public defender’s office. Both actors are immensely appealing, with Harrington perfecting his cut-rate Clooney rakishness.

But the comedy surrounding them is almost criminally bad.

Maybe the law just isn’t funny.

And if you’ve seen NBC’s “Bad Judge,” you have to suspect this is true.
