JOIN THE MERRIMENT

The Festival Fountain at the Forum Shops at Caesars, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is a technological spectacle complete with animated statues of Roman gods and a plotline that could rival some Strip shows.

Every hour on the hour seven days a week, the white marble statue of Bacchus, the god of merriment and wine, comes to life and welcomes visitors to the mall by planning a party.

With wine goblet in hand, he awakens the other statues, Apollo and Plutus, to help him.

Apollo, the god of music, plays his lyre; the god of wealth, Plutus, decorates the fountain with colored lighting effects in the water. Venus, the goddess of love, also joins in.

The entire rotunda is illuminated with lasers, theatrical lighting and projections of mythological images during the seven-minute show. The best part is the price, though, it's free.

Strip Tips is a weekly feature by Sonya Padgett that highlights attractions and activities on the Las Vegas Strip.
