Kid uses Make-A-Wish to pay it forward

A Pennsylvania boy didn’t use his Make-A-Wish like most kids do — he used it to pay if forward to others.

4-year-old Dominic Kerr was diagnosed with a form of cancer two years ago and when it came to making the choice for his Make-A-Wish, he chose to use it for others instead of choosing to use it for himself, according to CBS Pittsburgh.

“Dominic wished not for himself but for other children,” a regional Make-a-Wish President Judith Stone told CBS Pittsburgh. “He had a memory of coming to children’s hospital, and one of the highlights was going to the treasure chest.”

And it was a decision he made entirely on his own.

“We kind of let him decide, and he always enjoyed getting toys out of the treasure chest,” Dominic’s father, Mick Kerr, said. “So it was kind of a natural fit, I guess.”

Dominic went on the shopping spree on Sunday and then delivered the toys to the Children’s Hospital oncology clinic in Pittsburgh.

When asked why he chose to use his wish that way, he simply responded, “Because I wanted to see the kids happy.”

According to WTAE, all the toys that Dominic donated will have a sticker that says, “Donated by Dominic.”
