Fishing Report, Dec. 6
■ LAKE MEAD - Anglers in the Vegas Wash area still are having success for striped bass. Most of it is coming on lures, and spinner baits have been effective. Moderate action also has been found in the 33 Hole area. Elsewhere, anglers reportedly have found success while jigging in about 150 to 200 feet of water.
■ LAKE MOHAVE - Striper action continues to be slow at Cottonwood Cove, but as lake waters rise, the action traditionally picks up. Willow Beach continues to provide the hottest action on Mohave, with anglers reeling in several large stripers. The federal fish hatchery plants rainbow trout at Willow Beach every Friday.
■ URBAN PONDS - The pond at Sunset Park received nearly 5,500 rainbow trout Nov. 28 and another load of fish Tuesday. Also on the stocking schedule this week were the ponds at Floyd Lamb Park, Veterans Memorial Park and Hafen Park in Mesquite. Cold Creek pond also received a load of fish.
■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA - Fishing pressure remains low. Water temperatures are from 50 to 60 degrees, with Adams-McGill Reservoir being the warmest. Access remains good, with roads in good condition. The area is ice free, but with the weekend forecast, ice soon might be an issue.
■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR - The lake remains free of ice, and anglers have had moderate luck for rainbow and tiger trout using PowerBait and night crawlers.
■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR - Water levels continue to rise, and the lake is ice free. Anglers are catching rainbow trout with PowerBait or night crawlers.
