Fishing Report, Nov. 22

■ LAKE MEAD - Fishing has been slower this week, though anglers still are catching fish. They are having success in the Kingman Wash area, the Overton Arm and 33 Hole. Striped bass are feeding on shad in the Vegas Wash, which is generating some top-water action early in the morning. The Narrows is producing largemouth and smallmouth bass.

■ LAKE MOHAVE - Striper fishing has been good throughout the lake. In the Cottonwood Cove area, anchovies are catching fish in the 5- to 8-pound class. One angler caught a 5-pound largemouth on an anchovy. Catfish are hitting on anchovies and night crawlers. Near mile markers 51 and 52, striped bass as large as 25 pounds are taking AC Plugs and other trout imitations. Reports on trout fishing at Willow Beach are mixed.

■ LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS - Rainbow trout season has begun. The Nevada Department of Wildlife released more than 6,000 at Floyd Lamb Park the first week of November and 4,500 at Veterans Memorial Park the following week. The fish average 9 inches in length. The agency's regular trout-stocking regimen will commence the week of Dec. 3 for all local ponds except Lorenzi Park, which still is under construction.

■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA - Colder temperatures have brought ice to the management area. This has made fishing difficult at times, but warmer daytime temperatures are expected over the holiday weekend and should improve conditions. Because of its higher water temperatures, Dacey Reservoir (artificial lures and flies only) remains productive. Cold Springs, Haymeadow, Dacey and Adams-McGill reservoirs recently have received trout. Road conditions are good.

■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR - The reservoir remains open with a little skim ice along the shoreline in the morning. Anglers have been catching rainbow and brown trout while using PowerBaits and small spinners. Road conditions are good, and the campgrounds are open year-round with all facilities available.

■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR - Water levels have risen in the past few weeks, and fishing for rainbow trout continues to be good using PowerBait, flies or small spinners. Campgrounds are open throughout the winter, and road conditions are good.
