Steakhouse hosting Brazilian Outdoor Festival

Via Brasil Steakhouse will host its second Brazilian Outdoor Festival from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday at the restaurant, 1225 S. Fort Apache Road. It'll include Brazilian food and drink, live music, samba dancers, stilt walkers and fire breathers. Admission is $12 for adults, free for kids 12 and younger. Emeril's New Orleans Fish House at MGM Grand, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is hosting an oyster festival today through Sept. 27. It'll begin with the Oyster Fest Kickoff Happy Hour from 2 to 4 p.m. today, featuring some of the special menu selections, for $35. Dishes to be featured during the fest include absinthe-poached Gulf oysters with blue crabmeat and potato-crusted pompano and oyster bread pudding. 

Pigs for the Kids, a benefit for Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation and the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Craig Ranch Regional Park, 628 W. Hash House a Go Go is celebrating 10 years of business at its 6800 W. Sahara Ave. location. The celebration includes BLT Marys on Monday, Kokomo Meatloaf sandwiches and fries Tuesday, Bacon Mashed Potato Stuffed Burgers with fries Wednesday, chicken pot pies Thursday, sage-fried chicken and waffles Sept. 25, two Bud in a Bag Sept. 27, corned beef hash Sept. 28, Hand Hammered Pork Tenderloin Sept. 29 and kiwi-watermelon lemonade with souvenir glass Sept. 30, all for $10 each. 

The launch of locally owned Azzurre Spirits will be celebrated in a dinner at 7 p.m. Wednesday at RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The three-course dinner with an entree of pan-roasted salmon or braised beef short ribs is $125; call 702-632-9300. 

Two of Frank Sinatra's granddaughters and Sinatra executive chef Theo Schoenegger will present an interactive cooking demonstration and three-course lunch at noon Thursday at Sinatra at Encore, 3131 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Dessert Before Dinner, the annual fundraising event for the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, will be 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 26 at Caesars Palace. Nearly a dozen local chefs will create sweets using this year's designated Girl Scout cookie, Lemonades, and dessert will be served before the first course.
