1 dead in crash at Tropicana and Rainbow
A man died and a woman suffered serious injuries when the car they were in collided with a U-Haul truck Tuesday afternoon, Las Vegas police said.
The crash happened about 1 p.m. at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard.
The 2006 Ford U-Haul truck, driven by a 33-year-old man, was heading east on Tropicana when a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero turned into its path from a private drive, police said. The truck hit the left side of the car.
The driver of the car, a 50-year-old man, died at University Medical Center, where his 68-year-old passenger was taken in serious condition, police said.
The man will be identified by the Clark County coroner's office.
