A 19-year-old man died Thursday afternoon after losing control of his car and crashing into a light pole in the west valley.
At 1:53 p.m., police responded to a call in the 9700 block of West Charleston Boulevard. The man, who was driving a 1992 BMW sedan, was speeding when he lost control, Las Vegas police said. The crash impact caused the back part of the car to separate from the front of the car.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The man’s death was Metro’s 35th traffic related fatality in 2015
