1 hurt, 1 arrested after shooting at northwest valley shopping center

One person is wounded and another under arrest after Las Vegas police were called to a northwest valley shopping center to investigate a shooting.

Police and medical crews were called shortly before 1 p.m. to the 7200 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard, at the intersection with North Tenaya Way. The shopping center includes a Whole Foods and several eateries.

The wounded person was taken to University Medical Center and is expected to survive, Metro said. The suspected shooter was arrested.

Metro could not immediately provide further detail about the shooting or those invovled.
