A person is expected to survive after being shot in the leg at an apartment complex in the east valley, Las Vegas police said.

Police and a medical crew were called about noon to an apartment complex at 2500 Karen Avenue, near the intersection of Eastern and Sahara avenues, Metro officer Laura Meltzer said.

That person was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with a wound to the leg, Meltzer said. That wound is not considered to be life-threatening.
