Las Vegas police are investigating an east valley shooting that left one wounded, the department said in a news release.

At 1:48 p.m. Thursday, police were called to the 1500 block of Karen Avenue, near the intersection of Maryland Parkway and Sahara Avenue.

Police have detained two people, the release said.

Karen is shut down between Maryland Parkway and East Vegas Valley Drive, police said.
