The two people killed Saturday in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Boulder Highway and Desert Inn Road have been identified by the Clark County coroner.
Isidra Jayubo, 81, was driving a 2013 Dodge Dart northbound on Boulder Highway and turning left onto Desert Inn Road.
A 2006 Ford 500 was traveling south on Boulder Highway in the right of three southbound lanes. The Ford's front struck the Dodge's passenger side, and both vehicles slid to a stop in the intersection, a Metropolitan Police Department statement said.
Isidra Jayubo and her passenger, Mario Gomez Jayubo, 83, were transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead despite resuscitative efforts, police said. The Ford's driver was also taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with serious injuries.
These were the fifth and sixth traffic-related fatalities in Metro's jurisdiction for 2016.
