3 lanes of NB I-15 closed at Tropicana following overpass strike
The left three lanes of northbound Interstate 15 were closed for several hours at Tropicana Avenue after a bulldozer atop a flatbed truck struck the Tropicana overpass and sent debris into the freeway, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded about 4:24 p.m. to reports that concrete chunks from the Tropicana overpass had hit vehicles, said NHP Trooper Loy Hixson. The bulldozer stayed on the back of the truck and it appeared that the truck was able to continue under the overpass, Hixson said.
Traffic on Tropicana was not affected, Hixson said.
The section of I-15 was closed while the debris was removed, Hixson said about 5:50 p.m. The Nevada Department of Transportation will conduct a structural inspection of the overpass, Hixson said.
