32 firefighters respond to Arby’s kitchen fire

Thirty-two firefighters responded to a blaze at Arby's on Boulder Highway on Saturday morning about 7:30 a.m., according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The department received several calls reporting that the Arby's restaurant at 4954 Boulder Highway just south of the intersection of East Flamingo Road and Boulder Highway was filling with smoke, according to a media release.

When they arrived, firefighters saw the restaurant had heavy smoke pouring out of the door. Upon their entry, firefighters reported high heat conditions and zero visibility. The fire was quickly located in the kitchen and storage areas of the building, where firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in less than 17 minutes, the release stated.

The two employees that were working at the restaurant were able to exit the building prior to the arrival of the fire department.

The damage estimates are not available at this time and there were no injuries reported.
