A 70-year-old man is in critical condition after he was struck by a sedan while walking in a Charleston Boulevard crosswalk Monday night, police say.

The now-injured pedestrian, Kenneth Kleckner, was crossing where Charleston meets Brush Street, near Decatur Boulevard, about 10:45 p.m., when he was hit by a 2003 Acura TL, driven by Denise Salgado, 20, a Tuesday morning release from Metro said.

He was taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit with life-threatening injuries, the release said.

Police have not yet determined what caused the crash.
