73-year-old woman killed in Monday crash ID’d

A 73-year-old woman who died after a crash at Rainbow Boulevard and Hacienda Avenue on Monday afternoon has been identified.

She is Mary M. Cantrell, of Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner’s office said Tuesday.

Cantrell died at University Medical Center, police said. She was a passenger in a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis and was trapped in the car for a short time after the crash.

Officers and medical crews were called to the scene at 2:30 p.m. Las Vegas police said the 68-year-old man driving the Grand Marquis was traveling on Rainbow when he ran a light and was hit by a 2014 Audi S5, which had a green light.

The Grand Marquis and Audi drivers suffered minor injuries and were hospitalized, police said. Neither was suspected of driving impaired.
