Authorities arrest suspect in four bank robberies

A suspect was arrested Sunday afternoon in connection with four bank robberies, Henderson police said.

Oswald David Perez, 31, was apprehended near where Town Square Parkway and Sunset Road intersect, according to a news release from Henderson police.

The “Chin Strap Bandit,” nicknamed for his unique beard, presented a note demanding money while showing a weapon in each of the robberies, the release said. No one was injured.

The FBI and Las Vegas police assisted Henderson police in locating and identifying Perez, using surveillance photos and witness descriptions.

After Perez was taken into custody, detectives recovered “evidence of the suspect’s involvement,” police said.

Perez is accused of robbing four banks in Las Vegas and Henderson.

He is being held at the Henderson Detention Center on multiple charges of robbery and burglary.
