Barricade involving toddler in NLV Wednesday night ends peacefully

A North Las Vegas barricade situation involving a toddler Wednesday night ended peacefully when police determined the man holed up inside his home with the child was not dangerous early Thursday morning.

What started as a domestic disturbance call about 9 p.m. to the home in the 1500 block of Dragonfly Ranch Lane, near the intersection of Tropical Parkway and Bruce Street, escalated quickly, North Las Vegas police department spokesman Officer Aaron Patty said Wednesday night, when police learned there was a child inside and the man would not come out.

Once responders decided the man did not pose a threat, the barricade was broken down about 2 a.m., Patty said Thursday morning. "There was no violent confrontation."
