Blinking bikes, cruisers light up downtown Las Vegas

They came with their two-wheel cruisers from across the West — Southern California and the San Francisco area; Idaho and Denver, too.

Hundreds of these low-rider bicyclists were in downtown Las Vegas Friday night for a cruise down Main Street, showing off their “rides” and tricked-out two-wheelers.

Many bikes were adorned with colorful lights — a precursor to the local homegrown “Blinking Man” bicycle ride set for April 18 in downtown Las Vegas.

But the vast majority of Friday night’s riders were not locals. They brought their bicycles — many handmade by the bicyclists themselves — hundreds of miles.

Some had built-in stereo systems and even iPads installed on the side of their bicycles.

The ride started from the Golden Nugget, where many are staying this weekend.

There is another cruiser ride set for Saturday.
