Blood drive for people and their pets set
A blood drive for both humans and their pets will take place 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Las Vegas Animal Blood Bank, 8650 W. Tropicana Ave., Suite B-107.
All donors will receive a free photo of their pet with Santa. Pet-sitting services are available for owners during the blood donation process.
Volunteer blood donors will receive two free tickets to see the Country Superstars Tribute Show at the Golden Nuggett.
Pet owners can bring their dogs and cats to register as a donor with the blood bank, a local nonprofit organization that safely collects and stores canine and feline blood components so local veterinarians can use them for life-saving measures.
As Southern Nevada's community blood provider, United Blood Services relies on blood donations to make sure blood is available for anyone who needs it.
It has a need for all blood types, especially O negative, which is the universal donor and can be given to all other blood types.
