The body of a 79-year-old California man was recovered from Lake Mohave Sunday afternoon, according to a park spokeswoman.
Park officials were called just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday after the man was seen struggling and then disappearing under the water, Lake Mead National Recreation Area spokeswoman Christie Vanover said in a release.
Witnesses said the man was not wearing a life jacket.
Rangers, game wardens and firefighters searched the area and soon recovered the body, Vanover said.
The Clark County coroner’s office will release the man’s name and cause of death.
