Catholic Charities seeking turkeys, other food for annual event
Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada needs turkeys and other groceries to help feed families for Thanksgiving.
Rising food costs are limiting the nonprofit's ability to purchase food for its annual one-day Thanksgiving basket giveaway, which provides frozen turkeys and nonperishable dinner fixings to clients.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on Nov. 17 at Catholic Charities, 1501 Las Vegas Blvd. North. In recent years, this event has served more than 4,000 families. Clients who have signed up ahead of time will receive food first. Others will have to wait for food.
To donate turkeys, canned or nonperishable food, call 385-2662 or deliver donations to Catholic Charities .
